Hi everyone!

The editing and layout team is working away as we iron out the final wrinkles in the books for the project. We did the final reviews and readings of the Gonzo Docs Short Story collection text and are making the last updates to the book's layout. We'll be ordering page proofs for that book this week, which is very exciting. 

Our layout designer, Charles, has a long history doing professional layout for his corporate day job, so I'm really excited to see how much better his layout looks in print compared to my self-taught InDesign skills in the original edition of Axon Punk. It is especially fun to me that he's taking his corporate experience and using it to make Axon Punk, which is all about subverting futuristic megacorp oppression. 

Our editor is finishing the final bits of the full expanded Gamebook. We ended up adding easily 50% more content for the gamebook in the end, which is great but takes extra editing.

Most of Final Edits are In - Post-campaign update 15

Hello backers!

Hope you all have been well. The team over here has been working away on the final pieces of the Axon Punk Gamebook and the Gonzo Docs story collection and things are looking sharp.

Gonzo Docs Story Collection: Our editor, Eric Simon, has finished editing all stories from the Gonzo Docs story collection. We ended up with 15 stories for the collection in the end which is exciting - that's 50% more stories than we planned even after the stretch goal! Elvery Tren Peters decided to generously contribute a whole story arc over 6 stories that digs super deep into the history, lore, and timeline of the Axon Punk world. We the authors are reviewing the edits this week and after that we will slot those stories into the layout and be ready to start page proofs through DriveThruRPG. I'll send you all photos of that once we get the first test copies, which is exciting!

Axon Punk Gamebook: Eric has finished 2/3s of the edits for the additions to the Axon Punk gamebook. Those should be done and ready for slotting into layout in the next couple weeks!

Delay but Moving Forward - Post-campaign update 14

Dear Backers,

My apologies about the delay in updates. Unfortunately, we encountered unexpected setbacks as we are getting close to the finish line – life, day jobs, and family. Our editor and layout artist are working through it though, which I appreciate. I will post another update in the next two weeks with more information.

Editor working on gamebook text! - Post-campaign update 13

Hi backers!

Quick updated here from Axon Punk this month - we have finished internal reviews of the new material for this edition of the gamebook and have sent everything except one chapter to our professional editor, which is very exciting! We still have one chapter in the works, which is headlined by one of our co-authors. When that and our editor are done, we'll send it off to our layout graphic designer who is already primed to insert the final text to his prepped InDesign file.

It looks like we won't quite hit the fulfillment goal of end-of-May for the gamebook, but it shouldn't be much into June before you can get that survey out and you can get your gamebooks in the printing press and/or PDF for you! Thank you all again for all the the understanding and patience. The project has really skyrocketed in quality compared to the original plan so it is paying off.

Prep of Gamebook Text for Editor & Bonus Story Content - Post-campaign update 12

Hi Backers!

We have another double feature update for you.

Bonus Story Content: The full stories for the Gonzo Documents, an Axon Punk story collection, are filtering in from around the globe.  As bonus content for you all, one of authors (Elvery Tren Peters) has contributed a complete six-part arc of stories.  Tren is an artist, film maker, writer, teacher, OG Axon Punk playtester for over 5 years, and much more, so you are all in for a big treat.

Gamebook Text: After months of playtests (so many thanks to our awesome Wednesday night playtest group!), group research, and writing, we've finished writing and polishing the bulk of new additions to the Axon Punk: Expanded gamebook. We have some contributions from other authors still coming in, and then we will send the text off to our awesome editor, Eric Simon. Making things happen!
